Contemporary Improvisation: Beginners

Take on a new challenge for yourself and try some guided improvisation. This class encourages you to be curious and playful, and to find new ways of moving through the space. We dare you to play, release, breathe, in constant flow.

About the teacher

Ana is a movement teacher, movement director and dance artist. She has worked professionally in dance and theatre companies including Renaud Wiser Dance Company, Cascade Dance Theatre and KWAM Collective, and organisations such as the Young Vic and the National Theatre. She has taught various dance styles to a wide demographic and has recently been engaged as Visiting Lecturer at RCSSD and GSA working with student actors across varied year groups and courses. Ana’s professional experience in contemporary dance and theatre settings, her expertise in functional movement and interest in anatomical and somatic approaches, largely influence her current practice.

Ana holds a B.A (Hons) Dance Theatre degree from UAL and an MA in Movement Directing and teaching from RCSSD. She joined the Rambert Faculty in 2021, where she currently teaches Movement Improvisation and Creative Contemporary classes.

Autumn Term

Term runs from Monday 27 September to Saturday 11 December.

Classes will be socially distanced and we’re committed to providing a safe environment where all participants are confident to take part.
