Box Out with Micaela Taylor and Jermaine Spivey

Micaela Taylor and Jermaine Spivey are two young dance artists that really inspire us. Both have come to work with the fresh talent of Rambert2, Jermaine in 2019 and Micaela in 2021, when she created Home, currently touring to stages around the country.

In this film collaboration they both explore themes of disruption, confrontation and resistance in the context of the basketball court, and the relationships we hold.

A choreographic interpretation of the mental strategies utilized in basketball, Box Out was created under the guidance of Coach John Moseley, Head Coach of East Los Angeles College Men's Basketball Team.

We love the way they've collided dance and basketball. A different perspective that also makes the title of our latest Netflix obsession 'The Last Dance' seem even more on point.
