A high velocity celebration of the Rambert dancers’ skills, by internationally acclaimed dance-maker Andonis Foniadakis, with a newly commissioned score by Ilan Eshkeri. Eshkeri is a British neo-classical composer known for his concert music, film scores, and artistic collaborations.

Andonis Foniadakis grew up in the city of Ierapetra in Crete, Greece. He studied at the Greek National School of Dance in Athens and won a Maria Callas Scholarship to study at the Rudra Béjart School, Lausanne. He is currently Resident Choreographer at Greek National Ballet.
As a dancer Andonis collaborated with Béjart Ballet Lausanne, Lyon Opera Ballet and Saburo Teshigawara/ KARAS, and performed in works by choreographers including Maguy Marin, Jirˇí Kylián, William Forsythe, Dominique Boivin, Nacho Duato, Mats Ek, Maurice Béjart, Ohad Naharin, Frédéric Flamand, Bill T. Jones, Hervé Robbe, Tero Saarinen, Lionel Hoche, Joachim Schlomer, John Jasperse and Saburo Teshigawara.
In 2003 Andonis founded his own dance company, Apotosoma, in Lyon. Since then he has shown his work in France, Greece, Italy, Finland, Luxembourg, Germany, England and USA.
As a freelance choreographer he has collaborated with Martha Graham Dance Company, Sydney Dance Company, Royal New Zealand Ballet, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, Geneva Ballet, Lyon Opera Ballet, Ballet Jazz de Montréal, Bern Ballet, Aterballetto Ballet du Rhin, Maggio Danza, National Dance Company of Wales, Dansgroep Amsterdam, Balé da Cidade of São Paulo Brazil, Helsinki Dance Company Finland, National Ballet of Greece, National Theatre of Northern Greece, Benjamin Millepied Dance Company, Washington Ballet and Béjart Ballet Lausanne. In 2014 he was movement coordinator for Darren Aronosfky’s film Noah.
His awards include the Danza e Danza Award for Best Choreography 2012.
Ilan Eshkeri is an award winning British composer whose work uses multiple disciplines in various fields of art. Composer, songwriter, producer and conductor, Eshkeri’s work is performed in concert halls, theatres, galleries and on film & television; his eclectic body of work is linked by his love of narrative.
This year Ilan has co-created two ballets: Narcissus and Echo, choreographed by dancer Sergei Polunin with set designs by photographer David LaChapelle, and Symbiosis with Andonis Foniadakis for Rambert. Eshkeri was also commissioned by Burberry for their game changing autumn 2016 fashion show in London. Before this he created music for British astronaut Tim Peake’s Principia mission to the International Space Station.
Eshkeri has collaborated with Annie Lennox, David Gilmour, written a song for Sinead O’Conner, and worked with KT Tunstall, Tom Odell, Ash, The Cinematic Orchestra, and avant-garde electronic artist Amon Tobin. He has also collaborated with British art duo Jake & Dinos Chapman and naturalist David Attenborough, as well as fashion brands, dance companies and space agencies.
Amongst his extensive catalogue of film and television work are multiple Oscar and BAFTA winning films such as Still Alice, The Young Victoria and Shaun The Sheep. Eshkeri has been nominated for an Ivor Novello award, as well as nominated for a BAFTA for The Snowman & The Snowdog, where he co-wrote the hit single Light The Night.
Eshkeri is signed to Globe, a division of Universal Records.
German born, Paris based, Greek brand consultant and costume designer Anastasios Sofroniou began his career in fashion as a teenager, while completing his studies in History of Fashion and Graphic Design. In the mid-1990s he relocated to London where he collaborated with the global icon and fairy godmother of British Fashion, Isabella Blow. His diverse and rich career includes collaborations with photographers Richard Avedon and David La Chapelle, publications like The Face, Surface, Interview US, British GQ, Sunday Times Style and Greek Elle.
In February 2010 he launched his contemporary brand Conquistador Menswear and in 2012 founded his creative and brand consulting agency Mesvor Consulting Ltd. He began teaching Brand Marketing and Fashion Communication Masters at Polimoda in Florence, Italy and from 2015 at IFA Paris, France.
From 2011 his passion for costume design led him to collaborate with contemporary dance and opera companies including Martha Graham Dance Company, Geneva Opera, Florence Opera, Sydney Dance Company and Ballet De Laurenne.
Sakis Birbilis is a lighting designer, passionately devoted to theatrical, musical and dance productions since 1996. He has collaborated with many highly distinguished and esteemed Greek directors and choreographers, designing the lighting for more than 300 theatrical plays and dance performances.
