Our New Home
As a repertory company Rambert is out on the road for a good proportion of the year. When we return home it is to rehearse, recoup and develop new talent - both dancers and choreographers. Our home is important to us because it is where we hone our craft, create new exciting productions and work with the community, offering a vital insight into the spectacular benefits of dance - both physical and creative.
Rambert has outgrown its current home which is, quite frankly, falling apart around our ears. Unstable floors make it unsafe for the dancers to jump, and none of our rehearsal spaces are large enough to replicate the stages upon which we perform - with or without a live orchestra. All of this makes for a difficult transition from rehearsal to performance and restricts our growth.
A brand new home centrally located with rehearsal spaces will give us a dance laboratory where we can explore new work and nurture new talent. For the community it offers an unprecedented access to dance both educationally and experientially.
This is perhaps the most exciting moment in the Company's modern history, a realisation of a dream first dreamt by Marie Rambert, when she founded the Company. This will be a laboratory to experiment in, the means to reach into the community we serve, and at last a real purpose built home for the Company.
If you would like to help us make this vision a reality, please contact the Development Department on +44 (0)20 8630 0640.
