Our New Home
As a touring repertory company, Rambert is out on the road for eight months of the year. When we return home it is to create new work and develop the talent of our dancers and young choreographers.
We have outgrown our current home; unstable floors make it unsafe for the dancers to jump and none of our rehearsal spaces are large enough to replicate the stages on which we perform. All of this makes for a difficult transition from rehearsal to performance and restricts our growth.
Our new home, which will be located on London's South Bank, will give us a dance laboratory where we can explore new work and nurture talent. We will also be able to provide unprecedented access to dance and our archive, which is of national importance, will be properly conserved and accessible to academics, dance students and the wider public.
This is an exciting moment in the Company's history: the realisation of a dream first dreamt by Marie Rambert, when she founded the Company in 1926. A purpose built home for the Company will enable us to improve our already excellent artistic standards, be a powerhouse for the development of new choreography and establish new benchmarks for public engagement.
If you would like to help us make this vision a reality, please contact Naomi Russell, Campaign Director on +44 (0)20 8630 0640 or naomi.russell@rambert.org.uk.
