Workshop Programme
Rambert has as long history of working in schools and colleges to deliver high quality dance workshops to students of all ages and abilities.
Led by a Company Animateur (a professional dancer and teacher) workshops are specially tailored to meet the individual needs of each school or college. Suitable for students at all levels Rambert workshops are particularly suited for GCSE or A Level dance students, students of performing or creative arts, youth dance groups and community groups.
Each workshop contains:
-
Screening of A Day in the Life of Rambert, a short film that contextualises the Company for young people.
-
An introduction to the workshop
-
A contemporary dance warm-up
-
Repertoire - an opportunity to learn sections of the focus work
-
Choreography - students follow set tasks to choreograph their own work
-
Sharing - students perform and discuss their work together.
Since 2005 we have run increasing numbers of workshops in primary schools. Carefully selected repertoire and creative tasks make for a creatively stimulating and relevant cross curricular experience for primary aged students and their teachers. Rambert workshops support young peoples' understanding of theatre visits to see the Company perform.
Schools who book theatre tickets or workshops for their students receive Meeting Point free for one year, an informative bi-annual publication for teachers, group leaders and supporters of Rambert.
"The enthusiasm and energy with which the workshop?s material was delivered was an inspiration"
