Residencies

Rambert offers dance residencies, typically two days or longer, in schools, venues and communities across the UK. A Rambert residency can be organised in two ways, either providing one group with a longer and intense experience or providing several groups with one-off workshops.

Case Studies

The following are some examples of recent residencies.

Laban Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) - 2009
Rambert dancer Renaud Wiser led workshops over three weekends to students on Laban's CAT scheme. The workshops focused on Christopher Bruce's Swansong.

Greenshaw High School, Sutton - 2008
In November 2008 a Rambert Animateur led a four-day residency at Greenshaw High School. 100 students from every year group took part in the residency which focused on Mark Baldwin's Eternal Light and Christopher Bruce's Swansong. The student show took part in the residency attended Rambert School's Matinee at Sadler's' Wells.

Hammersmith and Fulham Summer Uni - 2008
Rambert led a week-long dance summer school as part of Hammersmith and Fulham Council's Summer Uni programme. The summer school was held at the Lyric Hammersmith and was attended by young people aged between 12 and 18 years old who were experiencing contemporary dance for the first time.

Newcastle Theatre Royal, Youth Dance Summer School - 2008
In August 2008 Rambert led a week-long residency for young people aged 14 to 18 years old in Newcastle. The residency was organised by the Theatre Royal, where Rambert performs annually and was attended by 25 young people who are passionate about dance.
