CPD
Rambert Dance Company will be hosting two sessions during September 2010.
Teacher CPD session at The Lowry, Salford
Thursday 16 September, 2.30 - 5.30pm
Designed for secondary school teachers, the session focuses on acclaimed choreographer Christopher Bruce and his award-winning Hush, a piece that features his stylistic trademarks and choreographic techniques. Ideas and tasks will be explored which teachers can take back to the classroom and use with students to create their own work, gaining a greater understanding and interpretation of Bruce's style.
This session is FREE to teachers who are also bringing a group to see Rambert perform at The Lowry.
Teacher CPD session at Venue Cymru, Llandudno
Thursday 30 September, 3 - 5pm
This two-hour workshop enables teachers to learn new skills and develop confidence in teaching contemporary dance in school. The workshop focuses on Christopher Bruce's award-winning Hush and will include:
• A dance warm-up based around Rambert's training techniques
• Learning movement phrases from Hush
• Developing creative tasks that can be used by students to create their own choreography
The session at Venue Cymru will be FREE to attend but is limited to a maximum of 20 participants so must be booked in advance. Teachers who take part in the session will be able to buy tickets for their students to attend a Rambert performance at the special rate of £1 per ticket.
