Deborah Galloway

Deborah trained at The Royal Ballet School, Bush Davies and gained a BA (Hons) degree in Drama from Manchester University.

Having performed at The Royal Opera House for The Royal Ballet, The Coliseum, Dance House Theatre in Manchester, Dukes Theatre in Lancaster and The Bonnie Bird Theatre Laban and at The Place, Deborah now focuses on choreography and teaching.

Deborah is Artistic Director of Needlefoot which focuses on site-specific works fusing dance and heritage. Independent choreographic works have been performed at the Jerwood Dance House for DanceEast, Stratford Circus for East London Dance, Greenwich Theatre and Bonnie Bird Theatre. Deborah also worked as Movement Director for Islington Community Theatres ‘it snows' performed at the Pleasance Theatre.

Since joining Rambert Dance Company in 2007 as an animateur, choreographic projects have included Ripon Cathedral, Tyntesfield House, Connect Festival at Lilian Baylis Theatre at Sadler's Wells and The Clore Ballroom at the Southbank Centre.

As choreographer and movement consultant in film production, Deborah has made adverts, game promos and been filmed for game footage in Sony Playstations' Kinetic and Pom Pom Party and choreographed the ‘New Lara Croft' performance tour and advert for Tombraider Anniversary.

Over the last ten years Deborah has taught classical and contemporary technique at Laine Theatre Arts, Urdang Academy, Arts Educational School, Rambert Evening classes, The Brit School and on the CAT programmes for Laban and DanceEast.

Deborah has also taught ballet on the BA dance theatre at Laban and for University Campus Suffolk BA: Dance in the Community as lecturer in Technique, Choreography, Professional Practise and Directed the End of Year Show 2010.
