Youth Yoga (13 – 17 years)
Life can get pretty hectic. The stress of exams, balancing out studying, socialising and perhaps dance training can be a bit much. Our yoga classes are the perfect way for teens to keep grounded and listen to what they need.
Classes are designed to develop strength, flexibility and suppleness whilst balancing the body and mind.
Class level: Open. Participants should be aged 13 – 17 years (School year 9 – 13).
Full term enrolment (12 weeks): £95

Meet the teacher: Josie Sovegjarto
I completed my original 200 hour yoga teacher training with Yoga London, based at the very beautiful Kagyu Samye Dzong Buddhist Meditation Centre in Bermondsey. I have since completed lots of additional yoga teaching qualifications, including Hot Pod Yoga, Teen Yoga and Yin Yoga.
First memory of yoga
I remember attending a very gentle Hatha class as a teenager, with a teacher recommended to me by my Nana! In fact, my Nana recently passed on to me her original copy of Iyengar’s ‘Light on Yoga’ book from the 1960’s. I then began practicing yoga alongside technique classes at University when studying towards my Dance degree, but more consistently around 8 years ago to balance out a busy work-life schedule.
Most inspirational teacher
I am truly inspired by all my students who teach me so much, especially beginners. Observing how people find comfort and stillness in each of the postures I guide them into is always great for me to learn from. I am inspired by anyone who commits to their yoga practice, be that somebody who is at the very start of their yoga journey and steps into a studio for the first time to those that have a long-standing love for yoga.
