696# Ghost Dances

By Katy on Thu, 24 June 2010 at 10:32:27 PM

Hello! Following on from talk of Ghost Dances, I saw this performed as a child and was captivated by the beauty and poignance of the dance and music. I have seen it again once since. Are there any plans to bring this dance back to London any time soon?

694# Free Festival Tickets!

By Rama on Thu, 17 June 2010 at 12:50:42 PM

Hi everyone,

I work for v, the youth volunteering charity. We're offering 18-25 year olds
FREE summer festival tickets to V Festival, Relentless Boardmasters and
Creamfields as part of our Summer of Give initiative.

All you have to do is volunteer your time and talents to v and entertain
crowds with your skills at each festival. In return, you will get your
moment of fame AND free weekend pass for the festival. It can be anything
you are good at, be it art, comedy, dance or music that you want to share
with v.

You must hurry as applications close on the 28th June 2010. Head here to be
a part of it: Summer of Give | vinspired

Thanks,

645# death and the maiden dvd

By sheri bankes on Wed, 26 May 2010 at 04:24:14 PM

I simply adore Christopher Bruce\'s DEATH AND THE MAIDEN and even had it on VHS (taken from the tv) but someone lost the video. I am LONGING to to be able to buy this beautiful and haunting ballet on dv but seem unable to find it. Is there ANY chance that it cold ever be released on dvd? It is such an exquisite work, and I have see it live a couple of times, but years ago.

I live in hope.

Best wishes,

Sheri Bankes, North Wales

610# For Emilie @ Ghost Dances

By Joce Giles on Wed, 17 February 2010 at 05:41:32 PM

Hi Emilie

The music in Ghost Dances is South American folk music; three of the numbers are of Argentinean origin and two are from Bolivia.

Ghost Dances Study Notes are available to buy at our online shop; it has detailed information about the costumes and set designs as well as a description on each section of the work, including analysis of the movement and background information.

You might find it useful to watch the Christopher Bruce interview 2 film in the Hush Unmasked section of our website. In the interview he talks about Swansong and Ghost Dances and describes how his dances can mean many different things to different people.

It would be great to hear from other visitors to this website on how they interpreted Ghost Dances.

Good luck with your Dance GCSE coursework!
