I saw the performance at Sadlers Wells on Fri 24th May.
What I love about Rambert is that the work to me is an interesting, unexpected display of movement to get a message across.
It was the second show I've seen by Rambert. I was fortunate to see Ghost Dances at Sadlers Wells over 4 years ago.
Thank you for the great show!!

I saw the performance on Saturday without reading any reviews of the week. Perhaps this was a mistake but personally I found the programming a bit of a disappointment. Of course, the dancers were on top form as usual and their virtuosity and agility is amazing. For me, however, the first and last items in the programme had a very similar dynamic - very fast-paced with lots of different movement going on simultaneously (too much to take in fact). Of course there were differences of theme and set too etc but personally there was nothing there that moved me. It was visual art with very little depth. I know this sounds harsh; perhaps I went with the wrong expectations. Skill is impressive. But that's not all I expect when I attend dance theatre. I want to be moved, challenged or startled. It didn't happen!
