just to say : the performance last night ( thursday ) was exhilerating!!
We ( hubby and I )loved the marriage of voice and dance in the ' L'eveil ' . ( I still recall the ensemble of Melanie Marshall and Cole Porter numbers of a few years back .... definately my most erotic theatre experience to date ! ) In Swansong , I couldn't anticipate how such a theme could work so well and movingly.Scribblings was magical and Anatomica#3 just crazy ! We loved it all ! Thankyou

I first saw Swansong in High Wycombe many, many years ago and have been waiting ever since to see it again, so was delighted to find it on this year's programme. But, where was the menace? The audience in Mold actually laughed at the beginning. Part of the threat and helplessness came (in Wycombe)from the absolutely superb togetherness of the two goons, as illustrated in fact in the promotional leaflet, but they didn't manage it this time. I'm pleased to have seen it again but it definitely didn't have that same sense of menace and threat.
