Thank you for your enquiry. For Swansong information take a look at our online shop. We sell study and teacher notes, the DVD of the piece and the accompanying music. The study notes have detailed information about the set and costume design as well as an in depth account of each section of the piece.

My daughter is studying dance at GCSE and there is so little information available regarding Swansong - in particular relating to stage and set design - any suggestions where else we can look?

i am currently studying GCSE dance.
and have been given corsework on SwanSong.
my only problem is i can find no usefull information on the internet!
im not even sure what the whole context of the dance is,
could you please just tell me the basics of the dance?

Hi Sophie,
Thank you for your enquiry. Firstly to interpret the work, I personally would read as much as possible that has been written about the section and familiarise myself with the movement content. There is a lot of symbology in this section, which gives you many areas to look at. Do you have a copy of Swansong? We have Swansong on DVD and Video on sale on the online shop, I'd advise you to watch the video, in particular the way in which tap is used as a form of communication (and the victim's and guard's reactions), the significance of props (red nose, chair), and movement quality. We sell Swansong study notes on the online shop which you will find very useful for analysing and interpreting Christopher Bruce's work.

Hello,
I was wondering if you could help me to understand more about the peice of Swansong. What do you think that that Christopher Brucce is trying to say in teh section of the dance 'Tea for Two'?
I wad wondering how you would interpret the peice.
