My daughter is 12 and working towards her Grade VI ballet exam. She wants to do GCSE dance. Do you do this at Rambert? If so can you please direct me as to what we need to do from here.
I also understand that they can take the GCSE at Year 10.
Many thanks.

Dear Amy
Thank you for your message and your interest in Rambert Dance Company. We sell a couple of resources in the online shop that would help you with your research, including Christopher Bruce's biography, Swansong study notes and also the Rooster study notes. By reading his biography and comparing that to his own notes about his work you will be able create an overall idea of dance styles and themes. Have you tried your college library? They may stock our resources already, if not try looking for interviews in dance magazines such as Dancing Times, Dance Now and Dance Europe.
I hope this helps, if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards

149# GCSE Dance

Dear Sally,
Thank you for your enquiry about GCSE dance. Rambert Dance Company does not offer vocational or academic courses for students. If you are looking at your daughter training with Rambert in particular you need to contact the Rambert School who offer higher education courses and vocational courses for ages 16 years and over, but not GCSE. Many secondary schools do offer GCSE Dance; it's just a case of doing some research into the best schools. Look out for schools with the Artsmark which is a national award scheme managed by Arts Council England that recognises schools with a high level of provision in the arts. If you are thinking of taking your daughter down the vocational route you need to start looking at that straight away as that may involve her moving to a boarding school. Have a look at this website; www.cdet.org.uk.
I hope this helps, if you have any further questions I will do my best to answer them. Please feel free to email me on learning@rambert.org.uk
Kind regards
