611# Comedy Of Change

I wish I could agree with the above. The only piece I really enjoyed was the last one - Tread Softly. As always the dancers were superb throughout the whole evening, but what a disappointing repertoire! There was hardly any of the joy of last year's programme, which was one of the finest I have ever seen. This one was dark, dark, dark with very little redeeming features, and that goes for the design as well as the choreography. The Comedy Of Change seemed rather pointless and confusing, with horrid discordant sounds (I refuse to call it music). Dutiful Ducks was so-so, with nothing new to offer, although it was mercifully short. Don't Think About It is probably an apt title, as I would want to forget about it. Obviously out to shock, but it was, in fact, rather tiresome like a worn-out schoolboy joke. One of the best dance companies in the world - and I have been going to it all my long life - it deserves a lot better than this.

Took a party of 5 - three of us had never been to a ballet whether classical or contemporary before. Blown away by the skill, fitness and agility of all of the performers. Definately want to see more and a convert to seeing more dance event.
One of our part was from South Africa where there is a strong tradition of ballet and remarked that in Jo'burg the audience would have gone wild and been standing and clapping and screaming. Well we certainly felt like we wanted to at the end!
Thank you very much for the performance and the introduction to a new entertainment for 3 of us.

I went along with my 11 year old daughter. We loved the ducks dance, really engaging and such a pleasure to watch; we didn't like the second so much, the story was unclear and it was too long; the Comedy of Change dance itself was wonderful in the true sense of the word. We left trying to dance in the street. Thank you.

Comedy of Change tour this may be, but the highlight of the evening, by a very long way, was Tread Softly. Utterly breathtaking and mesmerising, the company came to life in this piece. Henri Oguike is the most talented choreographer in Britain today.

Wow, what skill and variation! I was so impressed and left the theatre buzzing. It was all so inventive and the dancers seemed perfect throughout. There were even comedy moments which I didn't expect at all, it was delightful.
Thank you.
Mags.
