121# Auditions: Charlotte

By Stephanie Moore on Mon, 14 April 2008 at 03:39:40 AM

Hi Charlotte,
Thanks for your interest in the Company. Rambert's dancers normally audition after extensive professional training or relevant experience, in both classical and contemporary technique. After completing your training you would need to apply in writing to join Company class. This is usually the first step on the road to an audition if the Company is looking for a new dancer (the details of how to apply will be found on our website). In answer to your question about hours, our dancers work from 10.15am-6pm Monday to Friday, and often also on Saturday mornings.
Good luck and best wishes for your training.

126# Auditions

By Andy Cai on Sat, 26 April 2008 at 12:19:59 PM

Hi! I am Andy Cai from Singapore and am interested in The Rambert Dance Company. I graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts with a Diploma in Dance in 2005 and was the founding member of a dance company in Singapore called L.A. Dance Connection Pte Ltd from 2004 to 2007 under the direction of Lionel Araya (USA).

I have a few questions to enquire:

1. Does Rambert Dance Company has support program for foreigners?

2. Is there any open audition coming up after September?

3. Is there any age limit to enter the company?

Thanks for your time and I hope to receive your reply soon.

Hello Andy.

I am not exactly sure what you mean by a support programme for foreigners - we are an international group and have dancers of 13 different nationalities, but there isn't a specific support programme.

We have just held open auditions on 29 March and have appointed a female apprentice and a male dancer, so it is unlikely that we will be holding auditions again for a while, but you can always check back on the website where details of any vacancies will be posted.

There is no age limit to enter the company.

I hope this helps - if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Best of luck with your dancing!

153# Height Requirement*

By Jason of NYC on Fri, 27 June 2008 at 04:44:42 PM

Dear Mark,

I have been dancing in the US for 8 years now and honestly speaking I'm getting tired of the scene. I stumbled upon your website and fell in love with your work. My question is "Does your company have a height requirement?" It doesn't hurt to be Asian but I'm only 5"4 and my talent makes up for it, tho :). Please let me know. London might be my next hometown in the near future.

My best,
Jason

By Gillian on Tue, 1 July 2008 at 04:47:16 AM

Hi Jason
Mark is currently on holiday but I can reassure you that there are no height restrictions for auditioning to become a Rambert dancer.
For details on auditioning see the About Rambert - Auditions page of the website.
If you have any other questions please let us know.

Best wishes

Gillian

Thanks Gillian,

Thanks for getting back to me. That's awesome! I might not audition this year but in the near future. I just got a job in Washington DC.

My best,
