Rambert Elements: schools and colleges selected for national showcase at the Peacock Theatre
Over the past three months, Rambert’s Learning and Participation team has travelled across the country to watch school and college groups perform as part of our Rambert Elements choreography challenge.
A total of 36 groups took part in the regional platforms held in Edinburgh, London, Norwich, Nottingham, Plymouth and Salford. Each group choreographed their own short work, using music, themes, and creative tasks given to them by choreographers associated with Rambert: Mark Baldwin, Aletta Collins, and Alexander Whitley.
The standard of every performance was exceptionally high, and it’s been an inspiring experience to see the creativity and talent that exists within schools and colleges throughout the country. We’d like to thank all the schools and colleges that have taken part in the regional performances.
However, we’ve now completed the difficult task of selecting just one group from each regional performance to take part in the final showcase event at The Peacock Theatre, London, on Tuesday 28 June 2016. At this event, the six groups will perform their work accompanied by the Rambert Orchestra. The six groups selected to perform at the national showcase are:
Dame Allan’s School (Newcastle), Dereham Neatherd High School (Norfolk), Exeter College, Glasgow Clyde College, Lewisham Southwark College, and Stratford upon Avon College.
Date: 28 June 2016
