Amanda Britton appointed Principal and Artistic Director of the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance

We would like to congratulate Amanda Britton, who has been appointed Principal and Artistic Director of the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. Amanda danced with Rambert from 1984 – 1993, creating over 50 roles in new works, and has taught at the Rambert School since 2005. She has kept up close links with the Company, and last year worked with Lucinda Childs on our re-staging of Four Elements.

Mark Baldwin, who was part of the selection panel for the School’s new principal, writes: “Amanda was part of an excellent line up of candidates and this was no easy choice. In the ever-changing world of dance training Amanda’s passion and drive will be an inspiration to many future generations of dancers. I’m so looking forward to collaborating with the School again. I also want to add our gratitude and thanks to Ross McKim, who has led the school so wonderfully for the last thirty years.”

Amanda will take up the position on 11 July 2015. More information.
