How do I find out about evening classes at Rambert?

How can I audition to join the Company?
If you would like to audition for Rambert Dance Company, please submit your CV and a current photograph, and a stamped addressed envelope. If you live outside Europe, please also include video footage of yourself performing. Exceptional contemporary dance and classical ballet technique is required. I am a student studying how dance organisations work. Where can I get information about your Company?
Rambert Education has produced a Student Information Pack, aimed at students or those with an interest in the dance industry. The pack briefly outlines the historical background to the organisation and also the structure and organisation of Rambert Dance Company today. Inside you will find summaries of the structure and the funding of the organisation, details on touring patterns and the Company's artistic policy. Information is included on Rambert's education ethos, in policy and in practice. There is also a section in which three members of Rambert's Artistic team discuss their daily life in the company. The Student Information Pack can be bought from Rambert's online shop.

Do you do a degree course?
Rambert Dance Company is a professional contemporary dance company. If you are interested in full-time dance training with a view to becoming a professional dancer, you will need to contact vocational schools/universities to find a suitable training course. The Rambert School offers Undergraduate and Diploma level training. For a prospectus, please contact the school office on 44 (0) 20 8892 9960. The Rambert School is based near Twickenham and is run as a separate organisation to Rambert Dance Company. Alternatively you may want to contact the Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET). The CDET is the national standards body for the professional dance industry and they accredit training courses in dance. Its website is www.cdet.org.uk and you will find details of accredited courses at various vocational schools/colleges throughout the UK. For universities that offer degrees in dance, contact UCAS or visit www.ucas.com.

Can I do work experience?
Rambert has a limited number of places for work experience students throughout the year. Students should be 18 years of age or over and undertaking a relevant further education or higher education course (e.g. dance, performance arts, technical theatre, arts management).

Any employment opportunities at Rambert are advertised through our website as well as the national press.

Do you teach ballroom dancing or salsa?
As the UK's oldest contemporary dance company, Rambert's Learning & Participation team currently runs various classes and courses in contemporary dance technique. The Company's education department is committed to ‘sharing the vision and the artistry of the Company'. Therefore, we do not offer any classes in dance styles that are not related to Rambert Dance Company and its artistic practice. For information on classes and courses in other dance styles please visit www.londondance.com where you will find a directory of classes in every form from flamenco to breakdancing in Central and Greater London. If you are not from London and want to find out about dance in your area, please visit www.cdet.org.uk for a list of the UK's Regional Dance Agencies. By contacting you nearest dance agency you will be able to find out how to get involved in dance in your area.

Do you sell ballet shoes, where can I buy them?
Rambert does not sell dance footwear. There are dance specialist shops in London, such as Bloch www.blochworld.com and Freed www.freedoflondon.comFor those of you not in London and want to buy online, Dance Depot www.dancedepot.co.uk is great online shopping website.

I am a composer, can I send in a CD of my work?
If you would like to send in samples of your work for consideration by the Artistic Director, please do so in writing to: Company Administrator, Rambert Dance Company, 94 Chiswick High Road, London W4 1SH.

My child is 5 years old. Do you have classes for her?
Currently, Rambert Education offers classes and course for young people aged 10-17 years. By joining our mailing list or regularly visiting our website, you will be the first to know about new classes for different age groups. For information on current classes, summer schools or projects please go to the Learning and Participation area of our website.

How do I become a Supporter?
