Harpsichordists The Art of Touch

Carole Cerasi
Carole has performed throughout Europe and the world. With her group Ensemble Türk she explores the classical fortepiano chamber repertoire; they have given concerts all over Europe as well as for the BBC. Several of her solo CDs have won awards: the Gramophone Award, and two Diapason d'Or de l'Année awards. She produced a CD of music by one of Scarlatti's most colourful and quirky contemporaries, Manuel Blasco de Nebra. Her recent recording of Bach's English Suites has received excellent reviews. She has just recorded Haydn and the Art of Variations on clavichord and the Schantz fortepiano in Bath Holburne Museum. Carole is professor of harpsichord and fortepiano at the Royal Academy of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and the Yehudi Menuhin School.

David Gordon
Pianist, harpsichordist and composer David Gordon trained as a mathematician at Bristol University before turning to music full-time. He has since toured all over the world with various groups, including the gypsy tango band Zum, the baroque orchestra The English Concert, the piano-led jazz group David Gordon Trio and the early music/jazz group Respectable Groove, and has also toured with violinists Nigel Kennedy and Andrew Manze and singer Jacqui Dankworth. A self-taught jazz player, he has appeared on more than 20 CDs, both as composer, leader and sideman; this has also led to many of his works being broadcast on national radio both here and abroad, and to having compositions commissioned by festivals, publishers and fellow musicians.
