Paul Hoskins, Music Director 

Paul Hoskins (c) Bill CooperPaul Hoskins has been Music Director of Rambert Dance Company since 1996.

He has also worked with many orchestras in the UK and abroad, including City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Odense Symphony Orchestra (Denmark), BBC National Orchestra of Wales, BBC Concert Orchestra, Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt), Holland Symphonia, Northern Chamber Orchestra, Slovenian Radio Symphony Orchestra and English Sinfonia.

Recent theatre credits include Edward Scissorhands for Matthew Bourne at Sadler's Wells and on tour, Wind in the Willows for William Tuckett at ROH2, the world première of Stephen McNeff's opera Clockwork, and well-reviewed classical opera for Bampton Classical Opera and at the Buxton Festival. He has also assisted at Glyndebourne (Peter Grimes) and ENO (Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant).

In the theatre, Paul's guest conducting has taken him repeatedly to New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center, San Francisco Ballet, the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and several European theatres. For these companies he has conducted both the standard 19th-century repertoire, and many 18th and 20th Century programmes, as well as several world premières.

As Principal Conductor of Cambridge New Music Players in the 1990's, Paul gave many world premières and broadcasts, and in all his work he continues to champion new pieces by a broad range of composers.
