Pieter Symonds
Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, Pieter trained at the New Zealand School of Dance. In 1997 she was awarded a Shell Scholarship to join the Royal New Zealand Ballet where she performed principal roles in a wide variety of works. Pieter joined Rambert Dance Company in 2004 where she has enjoyed working with the various choreographers who have made and restaged works with the Company. She recently performed at the Coliseum with ‘Carlos Acosta and Guest Artists'.
Some career highlights include working with Christopher Bruce on Hush, collaborating with Kim Brandstrup for DK60, dancing the lead role of the Chosen One in Javier de Frutos' Malagros (subsequently nominated for an Olivier Award) and stepping in to dance the all-male Jirí Kylián piece Soldatenmis.
