Miguel Altunaga 
Born in Cuba, Miguel trained at the National School of Art, Havana. In 2001, he joined the National Contemporary Dance Company of Cuba, where he performed as a Principal in works by both Cuban and international choreographers, such as Rafael Bonachela.
He won the Cuban Best Male Solo Award in 2002 and in 2003 was chosen by Carlos Acosta for his new creation Tocororo. Whilst in Cuba, Miguel also choreographed works for National School of Ballet, and for bands Simply Red and the Zutons. He joined Rambert in autumn 2007, where he has performed works by Stewart, Bruce, Galili, Davies and Varone.
Miguel created his first work for Rambert’s Season of New Choreography, Don’t think about it, in June 2007. He appeared in Carlos Acosta and Guests at the London Coliseum in July 2009 where he danced pieces by Kim Brandstrup as well as his own work.
