Ross MacGibbon

Ross MacGibbon trained at The Royal Ballet School, joining The Royal Ballet Company
in 1973 and dancing at Covent Garden for 13 years, performing leading roles in many
ballets.

He stopped dancing in 1986 to pursue a career in television, beginning as stills
photographer on films for the BBC and Channel 4. Ross has produced and directed
many dance productions for both the BBC and Channel 4 including Ballet Boyz and the
re-opening of Covent Garden in December 1999.

He was a member of the Dance Panel of the Arts Council of England from 1993 to 1998
and a board member of The Royal Opera House from 1999 to 2002. He is a Governor
of The Royal Ballet and was invited onto the board of Rambert Dance Company in
2002. He was Executive Producer of Dance at BBC Television from 2002 to 2007,
where he oversaw the dance output of all the BBC channels.

In October he joined ScreenStage, a TV production company owned by Ambassador Theatre Group, where he will develop a media strategy for the Group as well as continuing to direct major dance productions for television.
