Prudence Skene CBE
Prudence Skene CBE was appointed Chairman of Rambert Dance Company in December 2000. Prudence has enjoyed a close relationship with Rambert since the mid 70s. She was Executive Director of the then Ballet Rambert from 1975 to 1986, returning to the Company as a Board member in September 2000.
From 1992 Prudence was a member of the Arts Council, firstly as chairman of the Dance Advisory Panel from 1992-1996 and then Chairman of the ACE Capital (formerly National Lottery) Advisory Panel from 1996-2000. She retired from the Arts Council in Summer 2000 and was appointed CBE for Services to Dance.
Between 1993 and 1998 she was Director of the Arts Foundation. Prudence has also held such positions as Executive Producer of the English Shakespeare Company, President of the Theatrical Management Association and Vice-Chairman of the Dancers' Resettlement Trust and Fund.
