Anu Giri
Anu Giri is a Senior Executive with strategic, management and organisational development skills and extensive experience of establishing and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels. She was Head of Dance, Arts Council England for the past seven years where she oversaw a portfolio of 23 regularly funded dance organisations with budget responsibility of £18 million and was a member of the Senior Management Team charged with developing and delivering an arts strategy for London. During her time at Arts Council England Anu has undertaken several different roles. She was part of the national Change Management team, led on regional investment planning, and played a key role in developing and implementing national policy and strategy.
Prior to the Arts Council, Anu was General Manager at Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company; Education Manager at Birmingham Royal Ballet; managed small-scale dance companies Chitraleka and Company and Claire Russ Ensemble and was Projects Co-ordinator at Dance 4, National Dance Agency.
Anu has served on the boards of several dance organisations, co-presented Network East for BBC2, trained in Indian Classical Dance and has a BA in Drama and a Diploma in Management.
She is currently a freelance arts consultant.
