Mikaela Polley

Mikaela Polley joined Birmingham Royal Ballet in 1990 where she worked as a soloist dancing in a large range of works, from the major classics to works by Paul Taylor, Twyla Tharp and Hans Van Manen. In 2001 she joined Rambert as a dancer, dancing in iconic works Ghost Dances, Dark Elegies and Judgement of Paris as well as working on new creations with a variety of choreographers, including Kim Brandstrup, Javier De Frutos, Christopher Bruce and Mark Baldwin. In 2008 Mikeala made the transition to full-time Rehearsal Director and has worked alongside Ashley Page in his new creation as well as Christopher Bruce on the revival of Rooster.

Mikaela created a new work for Ballet Central, Circle of 5, inspired by London 2012, her second work for the schools graduated company, which both featured new commissions by Philip Feeney. During her time at Rambert two of her works have entered the company repertoire: Momenta (2005) and Two Solos as a Tribute to Norman Morrice (2008).
