Pierre Tappon

Born: Angouleme, France

Trained: London Contemporary Dance School, Jeune Ballet d’Aquitaine (Bordeaux, France) and the Patricia Vaysse School of Dance (Angoulême, France).

Joined: Rambert in 2013 after seven years with Richard Alston Dance Company.

Career highlights: Performing the role of Petrushka in Richard Alston’s Movement from Petrushka, Robert Cohan’s Forest and being part of the Rambert Event. Other roles include work by Martin Lawrence, Darren Ellis, Mark Baldwin, Alexander Whitley, Shobana Jeyasingh, Barak Marshall, Merce Cunningham, Itzik Galili, Didy Veldman and Kim Brandstrup.

Other info: Pierre teaches at the Centre for Advanced Training at The Place and for several workshops in Europe, and has choreographed for youth groups in the UK, Italy and France. He also works as a dance photographer and has a master’s degree in Performance Studies from the University of Kent.
