© Peter CobbinHoward Goodall CBE is a multi award-winning composer of choral music, stage musicals, film and TV scores. He is well known as a TV and radio broadcaster and is a leading spokesperson for music education in the UK.

Howard composed the choral music for Rambert’s 2008 work Eternal Light. His score won Howard the Composer of the Year award at the 2009 Classical BRIT Awards.

Cherie LunghiCherie Lunghi began dancing, aged 4, at the Rambert Ballet School in Notting Hill Gate. She remembers Madame Rambert herself occassionally coming in to watch the “fledgling ballerinas”.

Cherie has gone on to have an enormously successful career as an theatre, television and film actress. She has been an member of the RSC and National Theatre companies, appeared in the West End, starred in numerous TV dramas and in films including Excalibur and The Mission. She was a contestant in the 2008 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

She says “Rambert was the ‘open sesame’ to the rich life I continue to enjoy in the performing arts.”

Thandie NewtonThandie Newton is a BAFTA award-winning actress who has appeared in over 20 major motion pictures, including the 2006 Best Picture Oscar-winner Crash.

Thandie studied dance before turning to acting, attending the Tring Park School for Performing Arts. She says “My passion for dance is never greater than when I watch Rambert at work”.

Prue SkenePrudence Skene CBE was Executive Director of the then Ballet Rambert from 1975 to 1986, later returning to the company as a Board member and serving as Chair from 2000 – 2009.

She has also worked for Arts Council England, as Director of the Arts Foundation, Executive Producer of the English Shakespeare Company, President of the Theatrical Management Association and Vice-Chairman of the Dancers’ Resettlement Trust and Fund. She is Chair of the Stephen Spender Trust and a Trustee of the Nureyev Foundation and Ambit.
